They’ve teamed up to build this facility as a “Center of Excellence” for their collection of pet resorts around the country, designing the building from the ground up to include the latest innovations in pet care. From high-end luxury suites to automatic watering bowls and doggy bus stops, there is no other pet resort in the state of Arkansas that looks like Paws ‘n’ Rec. Additionally, this is now the home of Pet Resort University – a training and education center for pet care professionals, managers, dog groomers, and dog trainers. So, the dogs at Paws ‘n’ Rec Bentonville will constantly be surrounded by the best pet care team in the world.
They’re now taking reservations for top-tier dog daycare, boarding, grooming, and training, elevating the standard of care for pets and pet owners in Northwest Arkansas.

Paws ‘n’ Rec was founded in Tampa, Florida by two best friends, Mike Mayleben and Taylor Wallace, with a vision for creating a company that elevated the lives of animals and the humans that love and care for them. Mike spent nearly a decade as the general manager of a large franchise dog daycare and is an expert on dog safety and pack behavior. Taylor spent 15+ years building technology companies before turning his love for hospitality, customer, and user experience towards the pet industry. Together, they’ve created the most beloved pet care brand in Florida, and they’re thrilled to be coming to Bentonville.
Why Bentonville?
While born in Tampa, Florida, the Paws ‘n’ Rec team has deep roots in Bentonville. Paws ‘n’ Rec’s CEO, Jason Duffy, spent over a decade at Walmart before acting as the lead operator for the country’s largest chain of private pet resorts. He partnered with the Team at Paws ‘n’ Rec to help grow their brand beyond Tampa Bay, and he’d long dreamt of opening a world-class pet resort in North West Arkansas. Today, that dream is alive, and it barks!
